The schedule has been
redone beginning
with games on September
18th, due to the withdrawal
of two teams
    Letter to Coaches:

     After one weekend of Fall Ball play, I just wanted to touch base and provide some rules & guidelines that will help to keep the games
    progressing a little bit quicker throughout the day …

    Game Time

    Games need to start promptly at the respected times : 9:00am, 11:30am, 2:00pm and 4:30pm … If your game starts late, you do not get
    to play late.  This strict rule is put into place to ensure that the last game has enough daylight to play a full game.  This is very critical in
    late September and early October when it gets dark by 7:15pm or so.

    Drop dead time is the drop dead time … No new inning after 2 hrs and play ends at 2 hrs 10 min regardless of game situation and
    regardless of what time the game started.
    Example : 11:30am game … no new inning after 1:30pm, drop dead time is 1:40pm regardless of start time (same goes for each of the
    other games as well)

    Coaches … have your kids arrive at the field early, get stretched and warmed up outside of the field, so they are ready to take infield and
    start the game on time.

    As soon as the game is over, shake hands with the other team, pick up all of your equipment and garbage in the dugouts, and then
    immediately vacate the dug outs.

    Coaches – if you wish to talk with your players after the game, please do so behind the dug out.  This will allow the on coming team to
    get settled in for their game.

    Fielding Practice prior to the game

    Visiting Team – gets 5 minutes of field time @ 15 minutes before the start of the game.

    Home Team – gets 5 minutes of field time @ 10 minutes before the start of the game.

    The remaining 5 minutes is used for the coaches to meet the umpires at Home Plate and go over ground rules.

    Pinch Runners

    Please use pinch runners for the Pitcher and Catcher when there are 2 outs and those players are on base.  The pinch runner must be the
    player who made the last out.
    This will help to speed the game along and hopefully allow more teams the opportunity to play 7 full inning games.

    Field Preparation and Maintenance

    9:00am Games – Both Teams are responsible to get the fields ready for game play … set the bases, line batters boxes, line 1st and 3rd
    base lines, so arrive EARLY.

    At the end of EACH game, both teams that just finished play, are responsible to rake pitcher’s mound and batters box/catchers area (fill
    in holes).

    4:30pm Games … OR … the Last Game of the Day – Both Teams are responsible for end of the day field maintenance … rake pitchers
    mound & home plate areas, drag the field (metal drags are in each field house).  If 5 or 6 kids help out, this only takes ~ 10 minutes to
    get the field maintained.

    If everyone does their part to help ensure compliance to these rules and guidelines, it will make everyone’s Fall Ball experience more
    enjoyable.

    END … October 23, 2011 (pending rain dates) … we will play Labor Day Weekend

    COST ......$ 450 / Team (checks made payable to C-PP Babe Ruth Baseball)

    SUNDAY GAMES ONLY … 9:00am / 11:30am / 2:00pm  / 4:30pm

    With 2 fields and 8 games per Sunday, this works out on the 2 1/2 hour time slots.....the SOP will be No new inning will start after 2 hrs
    and @ 2Hr 10 Min – All Teams will CLEAR the Field.  Which ever team is ahead at this point will win by time default.  This will allow the
    oncoming teams to warm up and take infield/outfield practice.  Please do your best to keep to the respected time constraints.

    TOURNAMENT STYLE PLAY ... free substitution ... courtesy runner for catcher & pitcher … bat up to entire roster (9 players with EH's) ...
    keep same batting order ... 10 run mercy rule after 4 1/2 or 5 innings (home team dependant).

    HOME / VISITOR will be designated by the schedule (Home Team listed second)

    MISC NOTES

    C-PP Babe Ruth will provide umpires and baseballs.  Teams provide manpower to drag/rake and prep fields.  The 9:00am game will have
    to line AND drag/rake and re-line for the 11:30pm game.  I realize that this is a bit of work so we will make every attempt to share this
    task with all teams.  Also, teams drag/rake and re-line for the game that FOLLOWS yours … 4:30pm game will only need to rake /drag.

    Please solicit volunteers (mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, fans) to work the scoreboards ...front and back fields.

    MANDATORY

    Be punctual.....start and end ON TIME.

    Be courteous to umpires and opposing coaches/players

    Spend lots of $$$$ in our concession stands....
